Tips for Increasing Water Consumption
You should drink at least 8 cups of water every day. Skim milk,
fruit juice, and decaffeinated tea can be counted as part of your
daily quota of water consumption because they are mostly water and
do not contain caffeine.
Try these tips for increasing the amount of water you consume daily:
- Always keep a water bottle with you -- at work, at home, in the car.
- Choose decaffeinated beverages instead of those with caffeine.
- When dining out order water as a beverage.
- Substitute water for soft drinks.
- Experiment with your favorite garnishes and add them to your water,
such as lemon or lime slices, flavored ice cubes, a splash of flavoring. - On cold days keep a cup of slightly weak hot tea (preferably decaffeinated)
with you at home and work.
